Horror Funhouse!
A downloadable game
After temporarily losing my main Desktop PC and all the ongoing projects that weren't stored in the cloud with it, I felt lost... Mainly because the main game I was working on, Cat Says Meow, corrupted the files. To avoid confusion and frustration, I decided to make something new, a game inspired by WarioWare 1 bit. I made some sketches and played with the concepts. The initial idea was to make only single player games, but now the vision has evolved into a Mario-Partyesque.
However, as a kid I wasn't a Nintendo kid, the main video game I had was a Playstation 2 I got for my 7th birthday. One of the first games I played was Scooby Doo: Night of 100 Frights and Shrek's Carnival Craze. Yes, I lied, this project is not WarioWare inspired, but heavily inspired by Shrek's Carnival Craze. Not WarioWaresque, but Shreknian.
The cute-spooky style of Scooby Doo stuck with to this day-- it still one of the games I most adore to play and look at, and I was looking foward to a mini-game based like Shrek's in this style that didn't rely heavily on Gore and Edgy Aesthetic. Mainly because I wanted a family friendly game.
So no, it's not a horror game, but actually a casual game with an horror inspired aesthetic.
For a while I gave the idea of making a 2D-looking 3D game like Don't Starve, but I realise it wasn't the best fit, however I did played around with it.
After I settled with the 2D Idea, there was the challenge of what engine to use. I thought about using Unity, the same one as Cat Says Meow, or Unreal, a new one that I had yet to try. Eventually I decided to choose none, and went with Godot. As for as Development goes, as of now, the prototype of the first minigame, Connie's Hockey Party, it is almost done, just a duzen more to go I guess....
